Our flowers are grown, cut, and quality-checked on our own family farm in Ecuador — here's how to keep them looking just as fresh once they arrive at your home.
1. Trim the stems at an angle
Use sharp scissors or shears to cut about 1 inch off each stem at a 45-degree angle. This increases the surface area for water absorption.
2. Remove leaves below the waterline
Any leaves sitting in the water will decompose quickly and encourage bacteria growth, shortening your flowers' life.
3. Use the flower food packet
The small packet included with your order provides the right balance of sugar (food), acidifier, and bactericide — always add it to the vase water.
4. Change the water every 2-3 days
Fresh, clean water prevents bacteria buildup, which is the number one cause of flowers wilting early.
5. Keep them cool and out of direct sunlight
Display your flowers away from direct sun, heating vents, and ripening fruit (which releases ethylene gas that speeds up wilting).
6. Re-cut stems every few days
Every 2-3 days, trim another small angle cut off the stems to keep water uptake fresh.
Following these steps, most of our roses and mixed bouquets will stay fresh for 7-10 days or more. Questions about a specific variety? Reach out to our team — we're flower people first.
